Dr. Maria Kona-Horstmann holds a doctorate in medicine and has been working in her own practice in Hamburg Sülldorf since 2020. She is a specialist in orthopedics, trauma surgery and she is certified in osteology (DVO).

- Dr. Maria Kona-Horstmann studied Medicine at the Medical Faculty of Hamburg and at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.
- She performed published cancer research at the Dept. of Clinical Chemistry, University Medical Center Hamburg (Nollau et al. Cancer Res. 1997;57(12):2354-7).
- She completed her MD thesis on ‘the significance of tyrosine phosphorylation in breast cancer’ (Institute for Clinical Chemistry, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf).
- Dr. Maria Kona-Horstmann underwent a residency program in the Dept. of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery at the Albertinen Hospital Hamburg and in the Dept. of Spinal and Neurosurgery at Asklepios Westklinikum Hamburg. She underwent outpatient residency training in orthopedics under supervision of Dr. Bentas and Dr. Schüßeler in Hamburg.
